Installing Contentville theme using the Administration Panel
- Unzip the compressed file provided by ThemeForest.
- Open the extracted folder “Contentville”, you will find 4 items (Contentville, Licencing, PSD and Contentville-documentation).
- Zip (compress) just the Contentville folder. (do not include the PSD, Licensing and Contentville-documentation files.)
- Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel.
- Select the Appearance panel, then Themes.
- Select Install Themes
- Use the Upload link in the top sub-menu to upload the zipped copy of Contentville theme that you have previously compressed, and click on ‘Install Now’ button.
- From the Available Themes section, click on the Theme ‘Contentville’ to activate.
Installing Contentville theme using FTP Client
- Unzip the compressed file provided by ThemeForest.
- Use an FTP client to upload only Contentville folder (do not include the PSD, Licensing and Contentville-documentation files) on your host server to the location of ‘wp-content/themes/’.
- From the Available Themes section, click on the Theme ‘Contentville’ to activate.
Note: After successfull installation the theme location path should look like ‘themes/Contentville’. If the Theme is installed within a separate folder for example ‘themes/Contentville/Contentville’ the theme is installed in-correctly and will not function as expected.
Image Resizing Script / External Image Support
Image resizing script Timthumb is bundled with Contentville – this version supports external images, however a safe list is required. Locate the section ‘AllowedSites’ (near line no.125) and add to the safelist the domains you wish to allow access to.
Language Translation
Contentville is translation ready, included with the theme is the required files for the translating the theme into any language. You can translate the Contentville theme using a wordpress plugin (codestyling localization).
The required files are located in the Contentville/languages/ folder.
